MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Conservatives have managed to secure the amount of seats in the parliament necessary to form a majority government in the tightest race Britain has seen over decades.
As final vote count results showed, the Conservatives won 331 seats in the parliament, leaving the Labour behind with 232 seats and prompting the Labour leader to step down.
Until recently, a coalition or a minority government seemed to be the most likely future for Britain for the next five years. However, in the end of a dramatic vote count night the Tories took over the Labour and built up their lead.
