CAIRO (Sputnik) – The campaign titled “Day of Solidarity” will be held after the Friday prayer across over 700 Iranian cities, including the capital, Tehran.
“Yemeni people finally decided to counteract the aggression which will eventually lead to the fall of Saudi Arabia,” special adviser to Iran’s supreme leader Rahim Safavi said.
On Friday, the Saudi-led coalition of Arab nations continued airstrikes on rebels’ positions in Yemen in Sadaa province which borders Saudi Arabia.
The humanitarian situation deteriorated in Yemen amid the bombing campaign which was launched on March 26 by request of Yemeni president. The UN estimates that over 1,200 people have been killed and another 300,000 fled their homes in the past six weeks amid ongoing ground fighting, aerial bombardments and sniper attacks on civilians.
