MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The S-400 Triumf anti-aircraft weapon system can engage all types of aerial targets including aircraft, drones and ballistic and cruise missiles within the range of 250 miles, at an altitude of nearly 19 miles.
The system is fitted with a radar that is capable of tracking up to 300 targets within the range of over 370 miles.
The S-400 Triumf system entered service in 2007 and units have been since deployed around capital Moscow and elsewhere in Russia.
China is in talks with Russia to buy the S-400 Triumfs while a number of other countries, including Turkey and Saudi Arabia, have also expressed their interest in the system.
