DONETSK (Sputnik) — The release of Donbass prisoners-of-war by Kiev will be discussed at a meeting in Minsk on May 19, ombudsman of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, Darya Morozova, said Saturday.
"The agenda was discussed during the [May 6] meeting in Minsk. The issue of prisoner transfers will be discussed during the next meeting," Morozova told journalists.
According to the Donetsk News Agency, Morozova said that the DPR will exchange prisoners only after the meeting of the Contact Group subgroup on humanitarian issues, scheduled for May 19.
Up to 400 militia members and some 2,500 civilians are held captive by Kiev's security forces, according to the ombudsman's office, which stated that the DPR had released all prisoners in early April. Ukraine's Security Service, however, insists that up to 300 people are still being held by the militia.
An all-for-all prisoner exchange is part of the 13-point ceasefire agreement signed by Kiev and the self-proclaimed republics of Luhansk and Donetsk in mid-February.
