MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The TPP is set to become the largest free trade deal, involving 12 countries from the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia, Japan, Mexico and Canada. The deal is expected to cover about 40 percent of the global economy.
"The new trade deal is a disaster. They don't talk about currency manipulation. That's the tool all these countries are using to beat us," Trump said at the South Carolina Freedom Summit Saturday, as quoted by The Hill.
"Our leaders are incompetent. They're babies," Trump said.
Passing the TPP deal would be an incentive for the US enterprises to send more of their products and jobs abroad, Trump added, according to The Hill.
The deal has already received criticism, as some say it will hurt workers and only benefit large corporations. The negotiations for the deal all take place behind closed doors, which has also received condemnation from several US Senators, among others.
