MADRID (Sputnik) — A military cargo aircraft Airbus A400M crashed on its maiden test flight Saturday shortly after taking off in Spain's southern city of Seville.
According to the latest information, six people were aboard the aircraft. Four died, while two are hospitalized. The cause of the crash is currently being investigated.
Spanish Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ana Pastor, coordinated a meeting earlier in the day on the issues related to Airbus A400M crash, where she announced that both recorders were handed to the investigators, according to the statement.
Following the incident in Seville, Germany and the United Kingdom suspended flights of their A400M planes until the cause of the crash is identified.
