Five Killed After Deadly Tornado Hits Several US States

At least 5 people were killed and dozens injured by the deadly tornado that struck the southern US states of Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi and is extending to the Great Lakes region on Sunday night, according to local media reports.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — In Arkansas, an official at the Howard County Sheriff’s office told Sputnik earlier on Monday that two people had been killed by the tornado, while two others still remain in critical condition.

At least 26 tornadoes were reported in the United States on Sunday. Hundreds of buildings are damaged, over 25,000 people were left without power.

Emergency workers continue searching for unaccounted people.

Severe storms and possible tornados are forecast on Monday from the US southern states of Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi extending all the way to the southern Great Lakes region, according the National Weather Service.
