WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Prejean is an opponent of the death penalty and was made famous by starring in the movie “Dead Man Walking.”
“Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev told a Roman Catholic nun who is a prominent death penalty opponent that ‘no one deserves to suffer’ as the victims of the deadly 2013 attacks had,” Radio 570 WNAX Yankton reported on Monday.
On Monday, Prejean said she had every reason to think that Tsarnaev was thinking about the consequences of his actions and had experienced genuine sorrow over his actions.
Tsarnaev’s trial is winding down, and the jury will start deliberations over whether to sentence Tsarnaev to death or life in prison without the possibility of release.
On April 15, 2013, three people were killed and more than 250 injured after Dzhokar and his brother Tamerlan planted two bombs near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Tamerlan was killed in a shootout with police days after the bombing.
