UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) — Colville added that the total number of civilian deaths has risen to 828 since March 26, including 182 children and 91 women. At least 66 public buildings and civilian infrastructure have been partially or completely destroyed, according to the official.
“The six days from 4 to 10 May have been the deadliest since fighting began in Yemen on 26 March, with a total of at least 182 civilians reported killed during that period," OHCHR spokesperson Rupert Colville said in a statement on the UN agency's website.
The OHCHR chief in his Tuesday's statement welcomed the announcement of the ceasefire in Yemen, stating that it should be used as the basis for a more permanent cessation of hostilities and honored by all sides to the conflict.
