A team of Russian inspectors will make an inspection visit to a mechanized brigade of the Greek Armed Forces on May 13-15, head of the Russian National Center for Reducing Nuclear Threat said Wednesday.
"The visit aims to check the data provided by Greece about its military forces and weaponry deployment plans," he said.
The inspection will be held within the framework of the 2011 Vienna Document which implements confidence and security building measures.
Its provisions include an annual exchange of information about forces located in Europe, notification of certain military activities, compliance and verification by inspection and evaluation visits.
According to the document, during a briefing, Russian inspectors must be provided with detailed information about the brigade. They also have the possibility to see its personnel, weapons and military equipment.
