WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Wednesday night, local media reported that Bolton will announce his bid for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.
“I believe I can make the strongest contribution to our future by continuing as a clear and consistent advocate for a strong Reaganite foreign policy,” Bolton said in the video. “While I am not a candidate, I am certainly not going to sit this election out.”
Bolton noted in the video that he will advocate for national security to become a central issue for the 2016 Republican presidential candidates.
The former Ambassador has been advising Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz and other possible contenders like the US state of Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal.
