LIMA (Sputnik) – Russia plans to sign a number of contracts with countries in Latin America this year on the purchases of arms and military equipment, a deputy director from the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation told RIA Novosti on Friday.
“Russia is currently holding negotiations with a large number of governments in the Latin American region on the deliveries of weapons and military equipment and expects to have concrete agreements this year,” Anatoly Punchuk said.
Punchuk declined to expand on Russia’s plans in Latin America, calling the issue “very ticklish.”
“Let’s wait until the contracts are signed, then we’ll tell the whole world,” Punchuk added.
