On Thursday, Scotland Yard announced that as many as 700 British potential terror suspects have traveled to Syria to join rebel groups there, such as the Islamic State.

According to the London-based International Center for the Study of Radicalization and Political Violence, more than 600 Britons are currently fighting alongside the ISIL in Syria and Iraq.
