Egypt has expanded a requirement to obtain a security clearance for women traveling to Turkey after introducing a similar requirement for men in December.
A senior police officer told AFP that the security clearance can be acquired within 72 hours. The existing security clearance requirement for men limits travel to both Turkey and Libya. Turkey is considered one of the main countries ISIL fighters use to enter Syria.
Egypt's state-sponsored Islamic authority has also warned women against marrying ISIL fighters they meet over the Internet.
