Crews of Russian and Chinese warships exercised measures on radioactive, chemical and biological protection during the Naval Cooperation 2015 drills in the Mediterranean Sea.
The two navies also completed anti-submarine and anti-aircraft training, rear admiral Viktor Kochemazov, Russian Command at the exercises, told journalists.
"On May 18, during the Russian-Chinese exercises Naval Cooperation 2015, the joint task forces of Russian and Chinese navies are exercising maneuvering tasks in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea. They also completed tasks on anti-ship, anti-submarine and anti-aircraft defense," Kochemazov said.
He added that all the tasks are part of the preplanned stage of the exercises which is called "Measures to secure navigation in remote areas of the World Ocean".
