“The world is getting tired of Ukraine… We are no longer headline news, we are being brushed aside because the world nations have their own priorities and problems to deal with,” Viktor Yushchenko said in comments, carried by the Kiev-based Russian-language newspaper Segodnya.
Yushchenko said the attempts to settle the conflict in eastern Ukraine within the framework of the so-called Normandy and Minsk formats have France, Germany and Russia acting as “observers” and Ukraine – as a full-fledged party, and are yielding no results.
“How can we use this format as a reliable means of ending the conflict when the other party is missing?” Yushchenko wondered.
“Therefore, we need a new format where Russia, Europe and the United States would act as full-fledged sides in the peacemaking process,” Viktor Yushchenko emphasized.
