MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Ukraine’s Hennadiy Vorobyov met with US Embassy Defense Attaché Col. Joseph Hickox and US Army Europe Commander Lt.Gen. Frederick Hodges in Kiev.
“During the meeting, the head of the Central Training and Everyday Activities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Col. Oleksandr Shvets, told the guests of the format and direction of training Ukrainian Armed Forces units under the support of the United States, which are planned for 2016,” the General Staff said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, he also expressed satisfaction with the progress of Ukrainian personnel undergoing training in western Ukrainian town of Yavoriv.
In March, Washington said it would redeploy up to 300 military instructors from Italy to Yavoriv, near the Polish border, as part of a mission to train the Ukrainian National Guard.
