MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The teenager’s plan to join the extremist group failed when her parents discovered where she was going and contacted police, according to the Swedish P4 radio channel.
The schoolgirl is one of several people from Orebro who have left for the Middle East to join jihadist ranks.
“We have seen some cases in Europe and also in Sweden where people live in strongly honor-oriented environments, where freedom is somewhat limited. One can go to school and one can work out but it is not much,” Orebro police officer Fredrik Malm told the broadcaster.
