NEW YORK (Sputnik) — A mental health provider spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on drunken yacht parties and charged them to the US state of New York, State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli stated in a report.
“Mental Health Provider PSCH, Inc. charged $152,680 is unsubstantiated or unallowable costs to the [New York] Office of Mental Health (OMH), including alcohol and a sunset cruise at a conference at the Montauk Yacht Club Resort and Marina, and more than $22,000 for a staff picnic,” the report said.
“The rules for conference costs are clear,” DiNapoli said. “[L]avish parties with alcohol, cruises and extra guests are not allowable.”
PSCH, Inc. has a $30-million contract with OMH to provide services and housing to individuals with mental disabilities.
