MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian and Chinese warships holding naval exercises in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea are ending the drills with depth charges, the Russian Defense Ministry’s Naval press service said Thursday.
“During the active phase of holding Russian-Chinese naval exercises in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea, the united force group…is completing practical artillery firing at enemy marine targets, practical firing using radar complexes, as well as firing depth charges at submarine targets,” Naval press spokesman Capt. 1st Rank Igor Dygalo said.
He said that the exercises currently underway were “the culmination of the exercises’ active phase.”
