The city's Department of Transport reported that for several hours on Friday evening the movement of several buses, trolleybuses and trams was stopped in badly affected areas, and recommended travelers allow extra time for their journey.

In total, the city authorities repord that 90 streets were completely or partially flooded by the downpours, which were accompanied by winds of up to 38 miles per hour [17 meters per second].

In the south of Moscow, Profsoyuznaya Ulitsa was completely flooded, as was a section of the underground passage at the Kaluzhskaya metro station.
In the west of Moscow, a lightning strike during a thunderstorm caused an explosion and fire at a gas station; according to the emergency services, one person was hurt as a result of the explosion, and was treated by medics at the scene.

The noise from the explosion was heard from several kilometers away, and workers in a nearby business center reported that the explosion blew out the windows of the gas station.
