The Maryland State Police Fusion Center was reported to have received an anonymous phone call about a "chemical weapons threat" aboard Air France Flight 22, on route from Paris to New York.
The threat resulted in the scrambling of two US Air Force fighter jets to accompany the plane to New York, where it will be taken to a safe spot between two runways and placed on lockdown for further investigation.
