PRAGUE (Sputnik) — The bill is part of an amended legislative package on assemblies that is being overhauled for the first time since it was adopted in 1990, after the end of communist rule. At that time, these were the most progressive laws on protests the nation ever had. However, in the 25 years that have passed since their adoption has rendered some of the provisions obsolete.
"Participants of street rallies and demonstrations will be granted the right to cover their faces if this is not accompanied by violations of public order," the website said.
The Czech parliament will review the Cabinet-proposed amendments after the summer recess and after passing them, will send them to the president for signing in the autumn.
