MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The dynamics of the ruble exchange rate in recent months show the Russian currency’s ability to adapt to different conditions, Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said Tuesday.
"The ruble has in recent months been on a very difficult course, which means that it is highly adaptable to different conditions," Shuvalov told reporters.
Between late January and mid-April, the Russian ruble gained about 30 percent against the US dollar, after which the exchange rate stabilized at around 50 rubles per dollar.
