According to Kommersant, the official was rebuked by Rogozin because Russia has never officially given up on buying the two warships from France and Bochkaryov had never taken part in the negotiations on their delivery.
Bochkaryov had also said that a special representative from France would arrive in Russia by Wednesday to negotiate a solution to the blocked delivery, something the daily could not confirm.
The handover of the first Mistral-class ship to Russia was scheduled for November 2014 after Moscow and Paris agreed a $1.5 billion deal in 2011.
French President Francois Hollande suspended the delivery over Russia’s alleged role in the Ukrainian crisis, a claim denied by the Kremlin.
Last month, President Hollande said Paris would return Moscow's payment for the warships if the contract is terminated.
