MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The self-described commander, who calls herself Um Asmah, said that most of the training was carried out in Syria.
She suggested that ISIL had a well-structured system to attract the young and vulnerable to fight. She added that there were well-educated people in ISIL who understand psychology.
"They have ways to attract people — especially foreigners. Otherwise young British people wouldn't come and say they will change the flag on Buckingham Palace," Um Asmah told Sky News.
ISIL has been reported to recruit thousands of westerners. The group’s intensive propaganda efforts on social networking websites especially target young people. At least 20,000 foreign fighters have joined Islamic State so far, according to the US National Counterterrorism Center estimates.
