MOSCOW (Sputnik) — In a 4-minute video on his website, Pataki said:
"Washington has grown too big, too powerful, too expensive and too intrusive… It is time to stand up, protect our freedom and take back this government."
Pataki, 69, served three terms as New York governor from January 1995 to December 2006. He is a founder of the Pataki-Cahill Group which, according to their website, consults energy, infrastructure and environment companies.
The list of prominent Republicans who have announced their 2016 presidential candidacy includes Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio. The strongest Democratic presidential candidate currently is Hillary Clinton, the former First Lady and state secretary.
