WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The formal sentencing by the judge comes after a jury handed the death penalty to Tsarnaev on May 15 on six counts for the April 15, 2013 Boston Marathon bombing that killed three people and injured over 260 others.
“Tsarnaev sentencing set for 6/24/2015 09:30 AM in Boston,” the US Attorney’s Office said via Twitter.
In early April, Tsarnaev was convicted on all 30 counts for his role in the most deadly terrorist attack in the United States since September 11, 2001.
