Law enforcers have begun to dismantle a migrant camp of around 400 people in north-central Paris; the site is located near the La Chapelle subway station, not far from the Eurostar terminal linking Paris to London, the news website France 24 reported on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Paris City Hall has underscored the necessity of offering accommodation to all of the inhabitants of the camp.
The dismantling comes several days after police warned that they would clear the camp due to health concerns; some migrants left the site ahead of the police operation and reportedly set up another camp near the Austerlitz train station in southeastern Paris.
