MOSCOW, June 2 (Sputnik) – Ukraine has received a loan of $1 billion from the United States, the Ukrainian finance ministry said in a statement Tuesday.
“Funds in the amount of $1 billion, raised from issuing bonds under US loan guarantees, have been received on the accounts of the government of Ukraine,” the statement reads.
According to the ministry, the US loan agreement is part of bilateral and multilateral economic support for Ukraine, which also includes a four-year IMF program, "and reflects an increase in support for the Ukrainian government’s economic reforms."
