The West is fueling crises in different regional states to increase Israel’s security, Iran's Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said, Iranian media reported.
"The western states are stirring crises to provide the security of the Zionist regime, and they are definitely making an irreparable miscalculation," Shamkhani said.
"The recent experiences have shown that terrorism is a double-edged sword that will cleave its supporters' chests too," he added.
In a meeting with Syrian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Jihad al-Laham in Tehran on Tuesday, Shamkhani noted that Syria is trying to defend the Muslim territories against Israel and Takfiri terrorism.
He further noted that weakening Syria will aggravate the security situation in all the neighboring states and the region.
Back in 2013, Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Qazanfar Roknabadi blasted the US and its allies' aggressive policies against Syria, saying that they have planned a war in Damascus in order to protect Israel's security.
"Safeguarding the Zionist regime's security is the main goal of the warmongers in the region," Roknabadi said in a meeting with the World Armenians Archbishop Jasliq Aram in Beirut, media reported.
