DONETSK (Sputnik) — All miners trapped underground in the Skochinsky coal mine in eastern Ukraine have been rescued, the emergency services of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic said Wednesday.
A total of 379 miners were trapped in the mine after the shelling by Kiev-led forces had caused a power outage.
"Rescuers have completed work to bring to surface the miners who remained underground from the moment the mine lost power as a result of the shelling," the Donetsk news agency cited a source in the DPR emergencies services as saying.
