G7 Summit Without Russia: Problem for the West, But Not for the Kremlin
BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — The official reminded that the sides would discuss formal realization of the political decision on the sanction regime extension made in March, when the European Council linked sanctions’ lifting to the Minsk agreements implementation.

"Our US colleagues announced yesterday in Washington the discussion on the anti-Russia sanctions’ extension. So talks on Russia will take place in this context," the official told reporters on condition of anonymity.

However, White House Senior Director for European affairs Charles Kupchan said Thursday that US President Barack Obama was likely to urge leaders at the G7 summit on June 7-8 in Germany to extend Western sanctions against Moscow.
