Bomb Blast Kills 16 at Northeast Nigerian Cattle Market
11:51 GMT 07.06.2015 (Updated: 12:55 GMT 07.06.2015) A bombing in northeastern Nigeria killed at least 16, apparently perpetrated by Boko Haram; the country's new president has vowed to wipe out the Islamic State-affiliated militant group.
A bombing at a cattle market in northeastern Nigeria's Borno state killed at least 16 people on Sunday, medical sources told Reuters.
The bombing raises the death toll for the new president's first ten days in office to nearly 100. Nigeria's new President Muhhamadu Buhari has promised to take a tougher stance on the Boko Haram militant group than his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan.
