ANKARA (Sputnik) – With 72 percent of the votes counted, leftist Republican People's Party (CHP) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) are reported to have also surpassed the 10-percent voting threshold with 24.5 and 17 percent respectively.
Pro-Kurdish People's Democratic Party (HDP) got 10.8 percent of votes.
More than 53.7 million of Turkish citizens had the right to vote in the general election held in Turkey on Sunday. People were choosing 550 members of the unicameral Turkish parliament out of 20 political parties and 165 independent candidates.
