The blurry video shows six law enforcement officers approach Rahim in a parking lot before backing up as the suspected Islamic State sympathizer advanced towards police with a knife. Two officers fired shots and Rahim fell to the ground.
Authorities released the video to quell allegations agents shot Rahim in the back.
Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley said during a press conference at the release of the video that authorities are still continuing the investigation.
Rahim’s family members held a funeral service on Friday at a local mosque. Rahim’s family reportedly requested police hold release of the video until after the funeral.
Immediately after the shooting, Rahim’s brother alleged on social media police shot his brother in the back.
