WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Monday, a fire broke out at Miller Chemical in Pennsylvania, and emergency responders came to the sight when alerted by the fire alarm at the chemical facility.

“The smoke… could pose complications to individuals with existing respiratory illness or vulnerabilities,” the Adams County Department of Emergency Services said.

Continued air monitoring by Pennsylvania emergency responders, according to the release, has not found any toxic chemicals released into the air by the fire.

Public water supplies have not been believed to be affected, the release added.
At present, there is no timetable yet for an end to the recommended precautionary measures, the release concluded.
Miller Chemical and Fertilizer Corporation is a company that specializes in the manufacturing and global marketing of non-hazardous crop protection adjuvants and nutritional agrochemicals, according to media reports.
