It was the second government building evacuation in the US capital on Tuesday afternoon, after several floors of the Dirksen Senate Office building were evacuated when police received a bomb threat, according to authorities.
US Capitol Police searched the third floor of the building for the reported suspicious package, shortly before giving an all clear and lifting the evacuation.
A few hours later, a press briefing was interrupted by Secret Service agents after another reported bomb threat.
