WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Twitter is an online social networking service that enables users to send and read short messages of up to 140 characters called tweets.
“Twitter, Inc. today announced that Dick Costolo has decided to step down as Chief Executive Officer of Twitter July 1, 2015… Costolo will continue to serve on Twitter’s Board of Directors.”
The company has formed a special search committee to look for a new CEO, according to the statement.
“The Committee will retain a leading executive search firm to assist in conducting a global search, which will consider both internal and external candidates for the CEO position,” it stated.
