WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — In Iraq, airstrikes eliminated tactical units, fighting positions, weapons and ammunition as well as infrastructure near Al Qaim, Bayji, Haditha, Kirkuk, Mosul, Sinjar and Tal Afar.
Airstrikes in Syria similarly led to the destruction of Islamic State personnel, weapons and infrastructure in Al Hasakah, Ar Raqqah, Dayr Az Zawr and Kobani.
“In Syria, Coalition military forces conducted 16 airstrikes using attack, bomber and fighter aircraft,” CENTCOM said. “Separately in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted 13 airstrikes.”
The airstrikes were a part of Operation Inherent Resolve, whose goal is to destroy the Islamic State.
The US-led Coalition has carried out more than 4,000 airstrikes against the Islamic State since August 2014.
