Putin's Visit to Italy Gives Worried Obama Food for Thought
Members of the Italian parliament from the Forza Italia party, led by Renato Brunetta, presented a draft resolution targeting anti-Russian sanctions on Thursday.

The party also plans to convince other European states to follow suit ahead of the upcoming European Council summit. The EU leaders will meet later on June 25-26 in Brussels to discuss anti-Russian sanctions among other things.

Forza Italia has a strong message for the United States: Washington has to understand that there is no returning to the atmosphere of the Cold War.

Cold War Shall Not Pass: Berlusconi's Party Vs Anti-Russian Sanctions
Forza Italia's initiative came a day after Vladimir Putin's brief but eventful visit to Italy on Wednesday. The Russian president held talks with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and toured Russia's pavilion at Milan Expo-2015.

Putin also met with Pope Francis, Italian President Sergio Mattarella and former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who pledged to fight sanctions imposed on Moscow, which harm Russia's European partners, including Italy.

Forza Italia is convinced that the majority of Italian citizens and business people, as well as the public opinion of the whole continent stands against the restrictive anti-Russian measures.
