“The situation on the gas market in 2015 is considerably better than at the end of 2014 and we see this according to gas deliveries on the market…For example, the largest consumer of Russian gas, Germany, which is the number one market for us, bought 68 percent more gas in May this year than in May 2014,” Miller told Putin.
Miller also said that a growth in domestic consumption is also growing.
“In regard to the domestic market, we see a slight growth in domestic consumption,” Miller said.
The issue of new long-term contracts for Russian gas deliveries to Europe is on the agenda due to growing demand, Gazprom head said.
"The demand for Russian gas is increasing, and certainly the issue of new contracts, of long-term supply of Russian gas to the European market is on the current agenda of negotiations with our European partners,” Miller said during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
