Two separate suicide bomb attacks reportedly ripped through the northeastern Nigerian city of Potiskum on Monday, killing at least ten people.

At least ten people were killed in two separate suicide bomb explosions in the city of Potiskum in the northeastern Nigeria on Monday, according to a police source and a civilian vigilante assisting the army against the Islamist militant group Boko Haram.

The first attack claimed eight lives; it targeted the civilian vigilante office in the Igwanda area of Potiskum, while the second explosion occurred in the city's Dorawa area at an open air tavern and brothel.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but Boko Haram has previously staged an array of suicide attacks on Potiskum, the commercial capital of Yobe state, which is predominantly Muslim and home to over 200,000 people.
