WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US real estate businessman Donald Trump is expected to reveal details of a personal fortune worth $9 billion on Tuesday when he joins the race for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination contest, media reports said on Monday.
“Donald J. Trump, the billionaire real-estate mogul, on Tuesday will release a summary of assets that total about $9 billion as part of his likely entry into the race for the Republican presidential nomination,” The Washington Post reported.
A two-page document will be released, detailing his hotels and other properties in addition to hundreds of millions in cash on hand and an outline of his debt obligations, media reports said.
Trump’s goal, media reports concluded, is to make the cut for the Republican primary debate in the summer and fall, requiring him to rank within the top ten candidates.
Releasing information about his finances will help establish his credibility as a successful entrepreneur who is prepared to be open with the public, according to media reports.
Donald Trump is the current chairman of The Trump Organization, Trump Plaza Associates, LLC and of Trump Atlantic City Associates. He began his career in business at his father’s real estate company Elizabeth Trump and Son, focused on middle-class rental housing in Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island, New York.
