WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Security personnel have arrested the suspected gunman involved in Monday morning’s shooting incident at the Little Rock, Arkansas Air Force Base (AFB), and transported him to a hospital where he is in critical condition, according to an AFB release.
“The suspect is in custody and has been transported to UAMS [University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences] for medical treatment and is in critical condition,” the release read on Monday evening.
On Monday morning, AFB security tweeted they are investigating a shooting incident at the base’s entrance and have closed all its gates.
The base was based on lockdown, but the lockdown has been lifted and the scene has been cleared, the release stated.
The Jacksonville Police Department, the Air Force Office of Special Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are still investigating the incident, according to the release.
