Earlier this month, NATO forces kicked off Saber Strike 2015, a series of large-scale US-led military exercises taking place on Russia's doorstep in Poland and the Baltic states and involving 6,000 personnel from 12 NATO countries plus Finland. Held annually since 2010, the ground, air and naval forces training exercises have been growing in terms of troop numbers and the number of countries participating over the past several years. Last year's exercises featured 4,500 troops and 10 countries. The exercises are set to conclude on Friday.
