MOSCOW (Sputnik) — At least nine of the 28 EU member states have taken no action against those sanctioned, the alliance said. The total worth of frozen property owned by the sanctioned Russian citizens in Sweden is estimated to be a mere 200 euro ($220).
Italy tops the list with a 30-million euro ($34 million) seizure of Russian billionaire Arkady Rotenberg’s real-estate holdings in September 2014, according to LENA.
Germany froze over 124,000 euros ($141,300) of sanctioned Russian individuals’ assets, the research revealed.
Spain, Finland, Hungary, Ireland and several other countries have reportedly refused to provide data.
Earlier in the day, Die Welt published additional research commissioned by LENA, revealing that the European Union could lose up to 100 billion euros ($114 billion) due to the anti-Russia sanctions if the sanctions remain in place.
