Kremlin Denies Putin, Tsipras Discussed Financial Aid During Meeting

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras did not discuss financial aid to Greece during their meeting on Friday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

ST. PETERSBURG (Sputnik) — Asked by reporters whether the issue was raised during the talks, Peskov said that the two leaders discussed the development of investment cooperation.

Putin and Tsipras also discussed food deliveries from Greece that will not violate Russia’s food import embargo against the European Union.

According to the spokesman, the leaders “generally agreed that there is a need to search for a way out of this situation to provide support to Greek producers that have found themselves in a difficult situation.”
