"The international community cannot remain under the rule of only one formation, one center. This is why, despite all the contradictions, global harmony should be based on the principles of balance as you cannot ensure a situation in which only the United States solves all the problems," Fillon said at SPIEF-2015 forum.
"However, involvement in the problems of Afghanistan and Iraq has already killed their enthusiasm. And therefore we may say that American exceptional influence and super-power does not actually exist, because there are new processes (which are currently underway) that unite Europe and Asia, and Russia plays an important role."
"One should understand that neither Europe nor Russia could be sure and confident in their future, if they do not respect cooperation and mutual interests," the French ex-prime minister concluded.
Earlier, Fillon noted that that Europe was fully dependent on Washington, which, he believes, is dragging it into a ‘crusade’ against Russia and is pursuing a policy which is absolutely contradictory to European interests.
