The Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, said that personal leadership isn’t respected in Europe but with the current situation stability of a strong leader is the most important thing.

The Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, speaking at the Globsec security event in Bratislava said that only ‘strong’ leaders, not institutions, can create stability in Europe.

He said that personal leadership isn’t respected in Europe because people were educated that leadership means managing the work of institutions.

“But when you’re in trouble … you need personal leadership, and personal leadership isn’t respected in Europe. It’s rather considered as a danger,” media reported Orban as saying.

He further added that with the current challenges that Europe is facing, stability of leadership is the most important thing to financial stability in Europe in the future.

Viktor Orban has been in power for five years now and he has extended political control over Hungarian courts, NGO’s and allegedly over media. He has voiced criticism over the EU institutions and laws.

He raised his voice regarding the migration laws in Europe saying that national leaders and not EU institutions are responsible for borders.
